Professional Profile

As CTO for MUFG Americas, Terretta brought Silicon Valley style customer-centric product engineering and platform strategy to banking.  He created MUFG Americas' Technology Office, bringing together the Enterprise Architecture, Security and Controls Engineering, and Technology Strategy and Incubation teams, applying emerging tech to transformational business needs, including both growth and buying down risk through operational ruggedness and resilience.

Prior to MUFG, Terretta served as CTO of cloud platform and then chief architect of tech strategy and incubation for the world’s largest hedge fund, where he spent four years designing secure, scalable cloud services to power machine understanding of the global macro economy. Terretta’s platform architecture enabled continuous provisioning of enterprise and distributed computing applications, lowering cycle times from months to minutes.

Before the hedge fund, Terretta founded and built a private label global video delivery network (VDN) powering top CDNs and media brands, featuring scalable live and on-demand revenue capabilities such as pay-per-view digital rights management, extreme concurrency payments processing, and rich consumer facing APIs. His platform drove the largest scale video and highest concurrency e-commerce events of the 2000s, from the Oscars to Obama’s Inauguration, with millions of simultaneous live viewers, hundreds of millions of on-demand streams, and billions of web pages and ads per month.

In the 90s and early 00s, Terretta learned repeatable innovation as CTO of a top Internet agency that took countless greater NYC area Fortune 500 companies online, leveraging his patents in e-commerce, web services, and networking infrastructure.

Terretta has served on Microsoft’s Internet Advisory Board and Amazon Web Services’ Customer Advisory Board and co-chaired Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) Financial Services Special Interest Group (SIG). He has worked with Microsoft on scaling SQL Server and securing O365, and has collaborated with AWS product and engineering teams on machine reasoning, security, and identity and access management, as well as on FinTech service architecture, migration and transformation technologies.
